Compare the boardwalk area with locations farther north and bay-side properties.
Downtown puts the boardwalk and inlet area at the center of your visit. Buyers who value activity should also assess evening sound, event traffic and parking. Walk from the actual property to the places you expect to use.
Farther north, compare individual blocks and buildings for restaurants, beach access and the atmosphere you prefer. Distance from the boardwalk changes the daily routine. Neither north nor midtown is a guarantee of quiet: check neighboring uses and seasonal traffic.
An oceanfront unit, an ocean-block property and a bay-side home are different purchases. Confirm the view from the unit itself, the legal access route and the location of crossings. For a condo, investigate elevators, parking allocation and common-area upkeep.
